CCMSI CASE STUDIES

FOUR PART SERIES - SELF-INSURED GROUPS.

The following case studies were compiled to produce a four-part series focused on the formation, management, improvement benchmarking/goal setting/strategies) and new member marketing/evaluation/acceptance.

The first case study, Keys to Self-Insured Group Formation, was posted on August 24, 2007. In this article, experts experienced in self-insured group formation and management offer their insight on how to establish a successful self-insured group. The next study will be posted in November.

The following case study focuses on Republic Services and CCMSI's eight-month initiative to improve their claims management program. Through improved communication, more efficient claims reporting software, aggressive claims handling and an increase in modified, light-duty positions, Republic has yielded positive results.

The following case studies were compiled to produce a six-part series focused on reducing the cost of risk. Key elements for an effective risk management plan were researched and identified. Also, several risk management professionals share their ideas and expertise throughout the series.

The first four documents have references to GE Young. These documents were published before CCMSI's acquistion of GE Young.
